CONTACTS: The Overland Eye Associates consider contact lenses a very natural, comfortable and effective method of providing maximum vision performance. The contact lens market is a constantly expanding and improving field and we are committed to providing the best solution for each of our patient’s contact lens needs.
A contact lens fits on the front surface of the eye and therefore naturally carries a bit more risk than an equivalent eyeglasses correction. For this reason, it is crucial that contact lenses are fit carefully and properly – and that the doctors follow up on the initial fitting and continue to monitor the health of the eye. Today’s contact lens materials are exceptionally safe and healthy but when something is worn directly on the eye it is critical to be sure that relationship remains healthy.
Contact lenses can be worn by patients of all ages with all sorts of vision conditions. Older patients with dry eyes, patients with high degrees of astigmatism, and very young children are all challenges to contact lens use, but with today’s contact lens technology it is becoming more and more feasible to serve these patients.
